John Adams Your Personal Karate Trainer
My story with karate begins in graduate school working in a program that helped children at risk. The program created different clubs and positive opportunities for the kids and it included a karate club. Although I had never practiced karate before, I tried one class and immediately became hooked! I began training once a week with the kids and other volunteers and started to move up the ranks.
When my internship ended, I stayed on as a volunteer and was soon a brown belt; one level below black belt. After another 2 years of rigorous training, I tested for and received my Sho-Dan certificate (1st degree Black Belt). This was by far one of the proudest moments of my life! I have continued to train and teach weekly at our Midtown Karate Dojo. In August of 2007 I was promoted to Ni-Dan (2nd degree Black Belt).
I am dedicated to helping individuals and families achieve their goals at a level and pace that is completely customized to their desire for moving forward.
My experience includes one-on-one training, classroom training and social work. I have worked with all ages from children as young as 5 to senior citizens.
